At World of Gymnastics, we seek to provide quality time spent in
developing your child's strength, flexibility, coordination,
confidence, and self-esteem while increasing his or her
gymnastic ability. World of Gymnastics specializes in artistic
gymnastics.
World of Gymnastics started as a basement business in the home
of owner Mrs. Laura Mikszan and has grown to house more than
1100 students. World of Gymnastics is a 21,000 square-foot state
of the art facility with two full-size floors, tumble track, two
foam pits and two trampolines. The equipment in our fully air
conditioned facility ranges from the parallel bars to a spring
loaded floor, from a pommel horse to the uneven bars. Many of
our mats and equipment were the very ones used at the 1996
Atlanta Centennial Olympics including bars, beams, vaults, and
awards podium. World of Gymnastics also offers two parents
observation rooms which are conveniently located for total
viewing access to the entire gym.
In 1999, three Olympians visited us at World of Gymnastics to
inspire young gymnasts. On National Gymnastics Day, 1996 Gold
Medalist Keri Strugg was the first Olympian to visit. She signed
the equipment she used in the 1996 Olympic Games including the
vault, beam, and bars. At the Annual Holiday Presentation,
Olympians John Macready and Amanda Borden performed and spoke to
audiences. John even performed in the World of Gymnastics'
Kangaroo Mascot Suit.
In 2002, Olympians Shannon Miller, Kim Zmeskal, John
Roethlisberger, and John Macready visited us at World of
Gymnastics. This was the second visit by John Macready and the
first visit by Miller, Zmeskal, and Roethlisberger. All four
coached a clinic to several local gymnasts from the Atlanta
area. After the clinic, all the Olympians signed equipment from
the 1996 Olympic Games, participated in a question/answer
session, and signed autographs.
World of Gymnastics is a member club of USA Gymnastics and is
located in Region 8. We currently have staff of more than 40,
many of which are USAG professional members, as well as being
safety certified and KAT accredited. At World of Gymnastics "EVERY
CHILD MAKES A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE."
